💊AI Helps Fight The Fentanyl Crisis
AI tools are helping in the fight against the fentanyl epidemic.
The infiltration of fentanyl from Mexico and Asia into the U.S. is not merely a border control issue; it’s a sophisticated network of illicit trade.
Exiger CEO Brandon Daniels Says traditional methods of interception are no longer sufficient. This is where Exiger’s supply chain risk management tools come into play.
Daniels says, “With the ability to analyze vast amounts of data, the AI-powered technology in the 1Exiger platform can identify the manufacturing origins of fentanyl precursor chemicals and map out their intricate distribution networks, acting as a digital bloodhound tracing the scent of these deadly shipments.
Drug overdose deaths are now killing more than 110,000 people in the U.S. every year, according to the CDC.
🏛️Texas Once Again, Cannot Arrest Border Crossers
Not so fast!
Texas is once again prevented from enforcing a strict new immigration law that gives local police the power to arrest migrants who cross the border without authorization.
The order, issued by a Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals panel before midnight, comes just hours after the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the law to temporarily go into effect.
The law, put on hold again, makes it a state crime to illegally cross the Texas-Mexico border and would allow state police to arrest people if the authorities have probable cause to believe they recently crossed the border.
The dispute over rhe law reflects the increasing tension over border enforcement between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Biden administration. The governor, claiming the federal government has abandoned its duty to protect the southern border, has pushed a range of measures, including the installation of barriers in and along the Rio Grande. The Biden administration repeatedly has turned to federal courts to block Abbott’s policies.
🏛️Trump Can’t Raise $454M For Bond
New York will be free to seize Donald Trump’s properties should the former president fail to meet a Monday deadline to post a $454 million bond in his civil fraud case.
Trump’s lawyers say the former president has been unable to obtain a bond to guarantee payment of the civil-fraud judgment against him, despite trying to negotiate a deal with some of the largest sureties in the world.
New York can seize some of the Trump properties to guarantee that payment.
Imagine how humiliating this is for Trump whose self-worth is tied to money.
Meanwhile, Creditors are intensifying their efforts to recoup significant debts from former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani by targeting his $3.5 million Florida condominium.
The saga unfolds as Giuliani navigates a bankruptcy proceeding, notably a whopping $148 million claim linked to allegations regarding Georgia election poll workers tampering with 2020 ballots.
It all comes as Trump has also warned that if he isn't elected in the upcoming presidential election "it's gonna be a bloodbath" for the country.
Trump delivered the chilling messages while addressing supporters at a Buckeye Values PAC Rally in Dayton, Ohio
Meanwhile, Robert Hur, the special counsel who investigated President Biden’s possession of classified documents after he left the vice presidency, defended his actions before the House Judiciary Committee.
Republicans grilled Hur about his conclusion that the evidence was insufficient to charge Biden with a crime. Democrats, for their part, attacked him for disparaging remarks in his report about Biden’s mental acuity — including calling him a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” who had “diminished faculties in advancing age.”

🏠Why Costs To Buy & Sell Homes Are Coming Down
Home buyers and sellers could see a significant drop in the cost of homes after a real estate trade group agreed to a landmark deal that eliminates the standard 6% sales commission.
The $418 million agreement will make it easier for home buyers to negotiate fees with agents, could lead more buyers to forgo using agents altogether, and force hundreds of thousands of agents out of the industry.
➡️SitusAMC’s Tim Rood a GisermanGroup.com client tells Fox Business’ Neil Cavuto it could help boost home sales especially now with such high mortgage rates in place:

💻Ban TikTok
The Senate is next to tackle the House-passed Ban on TikTok. If signed into law the app’s Chinese owner must sell or it will be banned from U.S. AppStores.
The legislation faces a tougher path in the upper chamber after sailing through the House. President Biden is backing the effort, Donald Trump opposes it.
170-million Americans use TikTok, which made more money last year in the U.S. than any social media app.
Meantime, Beijing says a ban on TikTok would "inevitably come back to bite the United States".

Kimmel fired back at Trump onstage by saying, “Blah, blah, blah … Okay, now, see if you can guess which former president just posted that on TruthSocial. Anyone? No? Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still (up) — isn’t it past your jail time?”

🧪Biden Pushes Abortion Rights As Court Rules Frozen Embryos Are Children
The Biden administration is calling for Congress to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into federal law.
It comes as The University of Alabama at Birmingham health system is pausing in vitro fertilization treatments as it evaluates the Alabama Supreme Court’s ruling that frozen embryos should be considered children. The ruling has sent shock waves through the world of reproductive medicine, casting doubt over fertility care for would-be parents in the state and raising complex legal questions with implications extending far beyond Alabama.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, said the ruling would cause “exactly the type of chaos that we expected when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and paved the way for politicians to dictate some of the most personal decisions families can make.”
🍀Fed Scientists Recommend Easing Marijuana Rules
Government scientists have concluded Marijuana is neither as risky nor as prone to abuse as other tightly controlled substances and has potential medical benefits, and therefore should be removed from the nation’s most restrictive category of drugs.
The recommendations are contained in a 250-page scientific review provided to Matthew Zorn, a Texas lawyer who sued Health and Human Services officials for its release and published it online on Friday night.
The records shed light for the first time on the thinking of federal health officials who are pondering a momentous change. The agencies involved have not publicly commented on their debates over what amounts to a reconsideration of marijuana at the federal level.

💉Wegovy Reduces Heart Problems
The popular weight-loss drug Wegovy reduced the risk of serious heart problems by 20% in a large, international study that experts say could change the way doctors treat certain heart patients.
The research is the first to document that an obesity medication can not only pare pounds, but also safely prevent a heart attack, stroke or a heart-related death in people who already have heart disease — but not diabetes.
Zepbound, a new weight loss drug from Eli Lilly has been approved by the FDA, the latest entrant in the field which includes Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.
The drug was shown in clinical trials to help people lose up to 52 pounds in 16 months. It will carry a list price of about $1,060 for a month's supply. Despite the steep price, some analysts have anticipated it will become the best-selling drug in history.
The cost may put the new drug out of reach for many people given that insurance companies are often reluctant to cover weight loss medications, and Medicare, by law, does not cover them.
In the United States, 4 in 10 adults have obesity, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
