15 people are injured, according to Peel Regional Police, 3 are listed as "critical”.
80 People were aboard the jet which originated in Minneapolis.
It’s the latest in a string of aircraft incidents in recent weeks:
An American Airlines regional jet collided with a military helicopter near Washington, D.C., last month, leaving no survivors.
A medical transport jet crashed two days later in a fiery explosion near a mall in northeast Philadelphia, killing seven.
The wreckage of a passenger plane carrying 10 people was found in Alaska earlier this month.
💰Trump’s Trade War, Stocks 🆙 For Now
Businesses and Wall Street ruminating “will he or won’t he” on tariffs since President Trump took office.
Trump has set in motion a plan for the U.S. to impose ‘reciprocal tariffs’. “They charge us tariff and we charge them,” Trump said.
But the President has not yet implemented the tariffs.
All this would hit you when buying everything from cars to homes to beer, to eggs. Ford CEO Jim Farley says Trump’s tariffs are already causing “chaos” for the car industry.
Supply Chain Expert, Exiger CEO Brandon Daniels tells NewsNation the move is aimed at countries like India that try to limit U.S. imports.

☢️Trump Fires Nuclear Team, Can’t Reach Them To Rehire
Nuclear Meltdown
Officials in the Trump administration fired more than 300 employees of the National Nuclear Security Administration, yep the folks responsible for ensuring the safety of our nuclear weapons. Once they found out just what these people do the President’s team tried to rehire them. Big problem though, these critical employees aren’t easy to find because their federal government email accounts have been disabled due to the original firings!
Sources told CNN the officials did not seem to know this agency oversees America’s nuclear weapons!
The personnel shakeup comes amid a purge of federal employees by Presidenr Trump and “Department of Government Efficiency” head Elon Musk,
Widespread government layoffs are underway hitting the Energy Department, to Health and Human Services, to workers across the government associated with DEI tasks.
About 75,000 federal employees signed up for the Trump administration’s voluntary resignation program, far short of the numbers the White House hoped for and increasing the likelihood of deeper mass firings. A judge ruled that the buyout can proceed. And it’s clear from events that Elon Musk’s government efficiency team is only just getting started.
And this ominous quote: “I think we do need to delete entire agencies, as opposed to leave part of them behind. ... It’s kind of like leaving a weed,” Musk said.
🚨Vance Blasted For Supporting Pro-Nazi Party
Vice President JD Vance told Germans to drop their so-called firewall and allow the hard-right, Nazi-denying, AfD party into their federal government.
German chancellor Scholz accused the Vice President of effectively violating a commitment to never again allow Germany to be led by fascists who could repeat the horrors of the Holocaust.
Scholz said the AfD had trivialized Nazi atrocities like the concentration camp at Dachau.
Elon Musk has endorsed the AfD as well, telling party members that Germans have “too much of a focus on past guilt.”
The chancellor said Germany “would not accept” directives from outsiders about how to run its democracy — and certainly not to work with such a party.
📱TikTok Is Back
Apple and Google have restored TikTok to their app stores, several weeks after they removed the Chinese-owned video platform to comply with a law that banned it in the U.S. Some 170 million American use TikTok.
Pres. Trump still wants TikTok’s Chinese owners to divest it, and has put Vice President Vance in charge of selling it. Tump signed an executive action he said would direct officials to create a sovereign wealth fund and suggested it could be used to facilitate the sale of TikTok..

🧊February Freeze
Most of the U.S. will get hit with yet another cold snap in the week ahead.
Across many parts of the Northeast, the snow is set to turn into sleet and freezing rain through Sunday night along with gusty winds.
The weeklong Arctic outbreak will likely be the coldest stretch so far this winter, which has already seen its fair share of frigid temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to plunge to at least 30 degrees below average across the Midwest and Plains states. The East will also get significantly colder-than-average temperatures.
🩺RFK Confirmed As Health Secretary
The Senate has confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has repeatedly expressed skepticism of vaccines, as the health and human services secretary.
He overcame deep opposition from much of the medical community and Democrats who implored Republicans to reject him, calling him a danger to public health.
Every Democrat voted against Kennedy, while Sen. Mitch McConnell, a polio survivor who had criticized the nominee’s questioning of vaccines, was the lone Republican no vote.
🚨Trump: Negotiations To End Ukraine War to Begin
President Trump spoke by phone on Wednesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin and they reportedly agreed on "starting negotiations immediately" to end the war in Ukraine..
Trump also spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said they discussed “the possibilities of achieving peace” as well .
Trump and Putin are expected to meet face-to-face in Saudi Arabia in the near future, and Zelensky wants to be a third person in on the talks.
It all comes a day after the U.S. and Russia implemented a deal for the release of American Marc Fogel.
🇮🇱Ceasefire, Hostages Exchange Back On Track
Three Israeli hostages have been freed from Gaza under a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas after a dispute this week threatened to derail the deal.
American-Israeli Sagui Dekel-Chen, Russian-Israeli Alexandre Troufanov and Argentinian-Israeli Iair Horn were released in the sixth such exchange under the truce. They were seen exiting vehicles surrounded by militants, who ushered the hostages on stage, where the captives addressed the crowd.
President Trump had vowed to cancel the ceasefire if Hanas doesn’t return Israeli captives by Saturday, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli troops would resume “intense fighting” if Hamas did not release captives held in Gaza.
It’s one of the craziest ideas from Donald Trump ever — Sounding like the real estate developer he once was, President Trump vowed to turn the Gaza Strip into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”
“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at a news conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. “
In typical fashion less than a day later, top administration officials sought to soften the impact. Trump’s brazen proposal to move as many as two million Palestinians out of Gaza and seize and redevelop it a U.S. territory met with opposition from key republicans as well as from officials around the world, with many calling the idea a breach of international law.
📈Trump Inc: Hotels, Bibles, NOW STOCK SALES!
Donald Trump, who has put his brand on everything from real estate, to TV shows, to bibles to cryptocurrencies, now wants to sell you investment funds.
The President’s media company has applied for trademarks on a series of exchange-traded funds even as Trump is in the White House with control over monetary policy.
BTW: The price of the $Trump cryptocurrency hovered around $17 this week, less than a quarter of its $75 peak value. Trump promoted the coin on his own social media platform, as well as Elon Musk’s X, saying: “Join my very special Trump Community. GET YOUR $TRUMP NOW.”
Trump’s company’s stock plans have already raised eyebrows. Typically, money managers don’t promote their new funds until they have sought approval from securities regulators to launch them. And, perhaps needless to say, no sitting president has ever asked a federal agency in his administration to sign off on investment products sold by a company he controls.
And in case you missed it: President Trump says he will make himself chairman of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well.
🤧Flu Epidemic
SICK of what’s been happening?
Well, you are not be alone. This flu season is already the worst in seven years and could soon overtake the 2017-2018 flu season in badness.
CDC data shows that during the week that ended February 1, nearly a third of the reported flu testing results came back positive. That was the highest in at least a decade. 40 states are reporting high numbers of flu cases.
🥚EGGflation: Restaurant Surcharge On Eggs
Restaurants are falling victim to a national egg shortage that has already plagued grocery stores sending prices to $7 a dozen.
The Waffle House restaurant chain is putting a 50 cent per egg surcharge in place due to scrambling egg prices.
Someone has even stolen about 100,000 eggs from a distribution trailer in south-central Pennsylvania. The eggs were taken from the trailer at Pete & Gerry's Organics in the Antrim Township borough of Greencastle, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police estimate their value at $40,000.
Egg prices are rising because of inflation as well as the bird flu, which made its way to the United States in 2022 after it was detected in Canada. To date, the disease has infected or killed almost 150 million birds.
🏈Eagles, Fox TV Win Super Bowl
Super Bowl LIX belonged to the Eagles and to Fox.
Jalen Hurts' Eagles dominated from the start, their 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX gave them two Super Bowl titles in the last eight seasons — a run that no NFL team other than the Chiefs and Patriots can match over the last 13 years. They've been to three Super Bowls in that span, too, and been to the postseason seven times.
Fox also was a winner A record 126 million people watched the Philadelphia defeat Kansas City on Fox and various streaming platforms, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen and the network. Fox’s broadcast network averaged 111.5 million viewers while its free streaming service Tubi drew 13.6 million viewers and another 800,000 watched on NFL digital properties. It was the third Super Bowl in a row to set a new viewership record.

🛬 67 Bodies Recovered , Trump Blames DEI!
Salvage crews have recovered the wreckage of the American Airlines Jet and Army Black Hawk helicopter that collided in midair near Washington Reagan National Airport.
67 people are dead and there are no survivors. The jet, which was coming from Wichita, Kansas, was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members on landing approach to Ronald Reagan National Airport around 9pm . Three crewmen were on the helicopter. At a briefing authorities say they believe the crash was avoidable.
President Trump of course politicized it; blaming diversity requirements at the Federal Aviation Administration and Pres. Biden, Trump saying that standards for air traffic controllers had been too lax under DEI programs.
Turns out the helicopter on a training mission reportedly flew outside its approved flight path. The American Airlines pilots most likely did not see the helicopter close by as they made a turn toward the runway. And the air traffic controller, who was juggling two jobs at the same time, was unable to keep the helicopter and the plane separated.

💣Jewish Leaders Condemn Musk
More than 160 Jewish leaders, including dozens of rabbis and mostly left-leaning activists, are making a fresh push for advertisers and app stores to drop Elon Musk’s X over concerns of antisemitism.
In a letter shared with the Tech Brief ahead of its publication Tuesday, the authors — under the banner of a campaign called X Out Hate — write that Musk “presents an urgent danger to Jews” via his leadership of X and “sweeping power” in the Trump administration. They call him “one of the leading purveyors of antisemitism in the world,” citing his recent Nazi-esque salute and Holocaust jokes, his support of Germany’s largest far-right party and the proliferation of antisemitic hate on X.
The Anti-Defamation League condemned Musk for making a series of Nazi-related jokes on X, calling it "inappropriate and offensive to make light" of the "singularly evil" Holocaust.
"This is a delicate moment. It's a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety," the ADL, an organization dedicated to fighting antisemitism, wrote on X.

📺Massive Job Cuts At CNN
CNN plans to lay off hundreds of employees TODAY. The network reportedly eliminating about 200 jobs focused on CNN’s traditional TV operations, and adding about says it will add the same number for new digital roles like data scientists and product engineers.
The layoffs come as CNN is rearranging its linear TV lineup and building out digital subscription products.
Some shows that are produced in New York or Washington are expected to move to Atlanta, where production can be done more cheaply.
For the most part, the job cuts won’t affect CNN’s most recognizable names, who are under contract.
CNN has been stuck in last place behind MSNBC and Fox News, the longtime leader. Its prime time ratings have plummeted since the election, and its digital audience has also shrunk.
CNN has about 3,500 employees worldwide.
💻Trump’s Musk Problem
Elon Musk threw a wrench into President Donald Trump’s AI infrastructure plans, insisting that billionaire investors in the project called Stargate — who stood next to Trump in an announcement this week — “don’t actually have the money.”
In the first sign of a crack in their relationship, the White House says listen to Trump not Musk.
Trump was joined by Masayoshi Son of SoftBank, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Larry Ellison of Oracle to announce the $500 Billion project. The chief executives all gave credit to the president for making the project possible, even though the project began under former President Joe Biden in 2024, and construction of the massive building in Texas set to house it has already started.
The partnership “will start building out data centers and the electricity generation needed for the further development of the fast-evolving AI in Texas, according to the White House.
🚨Facebook Caves To Trump
Facebook parent Meta has eliminated its third-party fact checking, CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s latest attempt to smooth over relations with Republican President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office.
“We’ve reached a point where it’s just too many mistakes, and too much censorship,” Zuckerberg said in a video announcement. “The recent elections also feel like a cultural tipping point towards once again prioritizing speech, so we’re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our polices and restoring free expression on our platforms.”
Meta said it will simplify its content policies by removing restrictions on subjects like immigration and gender and implement a new approach to policy enforcement that will focus on illegal and high severity violations. The company is moving its trust and safety and content moderation teams from California, a historically Democratic state, to Texas, a historically Republican state.

🏈Streaming Owns Holiday Football
NFL's Christmas Day double-header games were the most-streamed NFL games in .history, according to preliminary Nielsen figures that don't include international viewership. Once international figures and additional U.S. data is calculated, the league expects both games will have averaged around 30 million viewers each, representing a massive win for Netflix's live sports ambitions.
Last year's Christmas Day match on traditional television between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders drew 29 million viewers, the second-highest Christmas Day game since 1989.
The first Christmas Day game between the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, had an average minute audience of 24.1 million, per Nielsen figures provided by the NFL.
Nearly one-third of Netflix's global concurrent viewers on Christmas Day were watching the game at one point, making it the most-watched concurrent stream of any Christmas Day for Netflix in the past four years.
The second Christmas Day game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens had an average minute audience of 24.3 million.
It was the most-watched Christmas Day game on record among 18-34 year-olds, per the NFL, with 5.1 million U.S. viewers. (That figure is based on Nielsen records dating back to 2001).
U.S. viewership for Ravens-Texans game peaked at Beyonce's halftime performance, with over 27 million viewers tuning in.

🚨Gaetz Paid 17 YearOld for Sex—Ethics Report
Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, paid numerous women — including a 17-year-old girl — for sex, also purchased and used illegal drugs, including from his Capitol Hill office. The House Ethics Committee concluded the former Florida Republican congressman, who Donald Trump originally picked to be his Attorney General, violated multiple state laws related to sexual misconduct while in office.
Gaetz is joining Conservative, One America News as a talk show anchor after withdrawing his nomination for AG.
"The Committee determined there is substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, impermissible gifts, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress," the 37-page report concludes.
Gaetz filed a lawsuit in federal court to block release of the report, saying that he is now a private citizen and not subject to the jurisdiction of the House committee.
💊Trump Administration Push To Ban TV Drug Ads
The TV Drug advertising business could soon need a shot in the arm.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald J. Trump’s choice for health secretary, is a longtime critic of pharmaceutical advertising on TV, arguing that it leads broadcasters to more favorable coverage of the industry and does not improve Americans’ health. He has repeatedly called for a ban on such ads.
Elon Musk, who is spearheading a government cost-cutting effort, last month wrote on X, his social-media site, “No advertising for pharma.”
And Brendan Carr, Trump’s pick to lead the FCC said that his agency could enforce any ban that is enacted. “I think we’re way, way too overmedicated as a country,” he said.
The push against TV drug ads threatens to dent the revenues of pharmaceutical companies and broadcasters.
🚨Hegseth Hangs in For Defense Secretary
More Republican Senators are opposing Hegseth, for secretary of defense. NBC News now reports at least six Republican have concerns about supporting Hegseth. Hegseth drank in ways that concerned his colleagues at Fox News, according to 10 current and former Fox employees who spoke with NBC News.
Hegseth,’s mother wrote her son an email in 2018 saying he had routinely mistreated women for years and displayed a lack of character.
“On behalf of all the women (and I know it’s many) you have abused in some way, I say … get some help and take an honest look at yourself,” Penelope Hegseth wrote, stating that she still loved him, in a letter obtained by the New York Times.
A police report has revealed sexual assault allegations against Hegseth, a former Fox News personality, Here’s what we know so far:
Turns out Hegseth paid an undisclosed amount to a woman who accused him of rape because “he feared the allegation getting out 'would result in his immediate termination from Fox'.
The President-elect has always worshipped TV personalities, and this nomination comes as little surprise to Trump watchers.
The news was met with bewilderment and wide-eyed worry among many in Washington, as Trump passed on a number of established national security heavy-hitters and chose an Army National Guard captain who is well-known in conservative circles as a co-host of Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
Among other policies, Hegseth does not believe women should serve in combat roles.
The Pentagon has been described as the largest bureaucracy in the world and will be tough for a neophyte to negotiate.

Israel earlier evacuated its citizens from the Netherlands after street violence following a soccer game in Amsterdam. Israeli fans were chased down and beaten by Palestinian-supporters in what leaders of both countries called antisemitic attacks.
At least five people were hospitalized, according to Amsterdam police, who made 62 arrests.
