🌀Ferocious Hurricane Targets Florida -LIVE TRACKER
The Mayor of Tampa has issued a dire warning: ‘If you choose to stay … you are going to die.’
Milton is a Category 5 mega-storm targeting Tampa (above) — the most serious storm for that part of the Gulf Coast in decades. A storm surge of up to 12 feet is expected, as well as six to 18 inches of rain and winds in excess of 160 mph. Milton could also spawn tornadoes in the area.
Tampa International Airport has suspended all operations and Orlando International is also shutting. Walt DisneyWorld has closed, Schools and businesses shut, homes boarded up.
Over the past 48 hours more than a million people have evacuated ahead of the Hurricane.
Warnings are in place for some of Florida's most populated cities, including Tampa, Orlando, and St. Petersburg, as well as coastal communities from Cedar Key to Cape Coral.
President Biden has postponed a European trip to oversee hurricane response.
Live Hurricane Tracker
The storm has the potential to cause billions of dollars in damage and heap more misery on a state and region still reeling from Hurricane Helene two weeks ago.
Some people who didn’t evacuate for Hurricane Helene did so this time.
🌀Misinformation Stalks Helene Recovery
Misinformation has become a hurdle on the path to recovery as locals work to rebuild the communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
Some Republicans, including former president Donald Trump, are spreading false claims Washington is intentionally withholding aid to people in Republican areas.
Meanwhile, many cities and towns across North Carolina remain cut off from help and supplies after the hurricane. That includes no power or cell service more than a week after the storm tore through the region.
Helene is one of the most deadly, expansive and damaging hurricanes on record for the Southeast, due to its huge size, rapid intensification and rainfall.
More than 225 people dead with hundreds unaccounted for. A million customers still in the dark. The Asheville area especially hard hit, many gas stations were closed because they didn’t have electricity, and the few that were open had hourlong lines wrapped around the block.
Ashville, the hub of tourism and arts, home to about 94,000 people, was unusually still after floodwaters swamped neighborhoods known for drawing visitors including Biltmore Village and the River Arts District, which is home to numerous galleries, shops and breweries.
🩺Why Your Health Is Jeopardized By Hurricanes, Dock Strike & Mideast War
Late word: Striking members of the International Longshoremen’s Association will be back to work this morning, as the union and the management group representing shipping lines, terminal operators and port authorities have reached a tentative deal on wages. But issues over the use of automation remain and dock workers could be back on strike after January 15th.
The backlog from the Hurricanes, DockStrike and Mideast War are slowing the global pharmaceutical supply chain.
Brandon Daniels, CEO of AI Supply-Chain, Risk-Management Company Exiger says, “Americans’ healthcare is at risk from both the Mideast war and the port shutdown.” “Many key medicines are manufactured in Israel and production is slowed by the war”, says Daniels. “In addition medical supplies from latex gloves needed in surgery to lidocaine, an anesthetic used in hospitals are stuck in ships waiting to be unloaded by dockworkers.”
But a much larger, thornier issue remains—one that’s playing out in other businesses as well, from factories to grocery stores to Hollywood: How much, and how quickly, are humans willing to concede to machines? The dockworkers only agreed to a contract extension until January 15th, as the issue of robots replacing some of their jobs remains.

💸Stocks Recover, ⛽️Gas Spikes
Stocks ending higher led by Tech.
The Nasdaq rose 1.45% to finish at 18,182.92, S&P 500 gained 0.97% to settle at 5,751.13, and the Dow added 126.13 points, or 0.3%, to end at 42,080.37.
It comes as the economy added a blowout 254,000 jobs last month, while the unemployment rate ticked down to 4.1%,.
Experts are calling it a “Goldilocks” report—good enough to reassure investors that the economy is chugging along, but not so hot that it causes the Fed to stop future interest rate cuts.
Smart money on Wall Street is taking positions that reflect a higher chance of a Kamala Harris election victory.
A new poll shows Vice President Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump. The survey, by The Times and Siena College, has the race at 49-46, with Harris making gains among older voters and Republicans, and persuading more Americans that she represents change. But Trump is still more trusted to manage the economy.
Interactions between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir form the basis of Bob Woodward’s conclusion in a new book that Trump is worse than Richard Nixon, whose presidency was undone by the Watergate scandal exposed a half-century ago by Woodward and his Washington Post colleague Carl Bernstein.

🚀Israel Attacks On 1-Year Anniversary of Terror Attack
On this one-year anniversary of the terror attack on Israel, an Israeli airstrike hit a mosque in central Gaza and Palestinian officials said at least 19 people were killed. Israeli planes also lit up the skyline across the southern suburbs of Beirut, striking what the military said were Hezbollah targets.
Israeli bombs last week hit a building affiliated with Hezbollah in central Beirut overnight, killing nine people, according to local officials, as the world awaits its response against Iran. Israel reports 8 soldiers dead in other actions in what now is a regional war.
It comes after Iran launched 200 hundred missiles at Israel. Air raid sirens sounded across the country, loud booming explosions were heard above Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with flashes of light from intercepting rockets from Israel’s air defense system and U.S. forces.
There were no reports of casualties in Israel, but one Palestinian man was killed by falling shrapnel in the occupied West Bank.
The attack could set off a sharp escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran and bring the region further into a widening war.
📟Israeli Tech Strikes Again: Leaflets With BarCodes
Israeli Tech Strikes Again!
Israel is dropping leaflets with a "very dangerous" barcode on them onto Lebanon, Hezbollah warning that scanning the code by phone would "withdraw all information" from any device. There is no comment from the Israeli military.
The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon is warning Americans there to "book any ticket available" on the dwindling number of flights departing the country as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah is rapidly escalating.
The earlier explosion of Hezbollah pagers and walkie-talkies is not just an isolated incident, it’s an unsettling illustration of potential dangers lurking within the everyday devices we rely on.

💻TikTok Is Dangerous
A bipartisan group of more than a dozen state attorneys general is filing lawsuits against social media giant TikTok related to its app’s effects on teens and other young users. A suit by District of Columbia AG Brian Schwalb accuses the company of deceiving users by claiming that its “addictive” app is safe for children, and for allegedly operating a illegal money transmission business.
The lawsuits come weeks after TikTok lawyers argued in a federal appeals court that a new law banning the app after Jan. 19, unless ByteDance sells it to a non-Chinese buyer, was unconstitutional.

🪦Melania Splits With Trump To Support Abortion
First Lady Melania Trump made an extraordinary declaration in an eagerly awaited memoir to be published a month from election day: she is a passionate supporter of a woman’s right to control her own body – including the right to abortion.
“It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government,” the Republican nominee’s wife writes, amid a campaign in which Donald Trump’s threats to women’s reproductive rights have played a central role. Trump has taken credit for appointing Supreme Court Justices who overturned Roe v Wade.
👨⚖️Bombshell Special Counsel Filing In Trump Election Fraud Case
Special counsel Jack Smith has outlined new details of former President Donald Trump and his allies' sweeping and "increasingly desperate" efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, in a blockbuster court filing aimed at defending Smith's prosecution of Trump following the Supreme Court's July immunity ruling.
Trump intentionally lied to the public, state election officials, and his own vice president in an effort to cling to power after losing the election, while privately describing some of the claims of election fraud as "crazy," prosecutors alleged in the 165-page filing.
"When the defendant lost the 2020 presidential election, he resorted to crimes to try to stay in office," the filing said. "With private co-conspirators, the defendant launched a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results in seven states that he had lost."
Trump’s Twitter post on Jan. 6 attacking then-Vice President Mike Pence for refusing to block President Biden’s win spurred Capitol rioters to threaten Pence, prosecutors said. An aide rushed into Trump’s dining room to inform him that Pence had been taken to a secure location, hoping that Trump would take action to ensure the vice president’s safety. Trump instead only looked at the aide and said, “So what?” according evidence cited in Smith’s filing.
Prosecutors said that exchange further revealed “the private nature of his desperate conduct as a candidate, rather than a President.”
📺Trump Rejects, Harris Accepts 60 Minutes Interview
Donald Trump, who walked out of an interview with correspondent Lesley Stahl in 2020 amid the last presidential campaign, has cancelled an exchange he was scheduled to make on a special edition of the CBS News newsmagazine for Monday night — after previously committing to do so.
“For over half a century, ’60 Minutes’ has invited the Democratic and Republican tickets to appear on our broadcast as Americans head to the polls,” the program said in a statement. “This year, both the Harris and Trump campaigns agreed to sit down with ’60 Minutes’. Vice President Harris will speak with correspondent Bill Whitaker. After initially accepting ’60 Minutes’’ request for an interview with Scott Pelley, former President Trump’s campaign has decided not to participate. Pelley will address this Monday evening.”
📺VP Debate: Vance Refuses To Acknowledge Trump Lost in 2020
Republican Sen. JD Vance and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz met for the first and likely only vice presidential debate with the most contentious exchanges of the night toward the end, when they clashed over Donald Trump's actions in the wake of the 2020 election. Vance declined to answer when asked if he thought Trump lost in 2020, which Walz called a "damning non-answer."
Both men took aim at the candidates at the top of the ticket. Vance repeatedly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for the current administration's policies and record, particularly on immigration and the economy. Several of Walz's strongest moments came when he was attacking Trump's position on abortion and reminding viewers of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Asked if they would support or oppose a preemptive strike on Iran by Israel, both candidates cited Israel’s right to defend itself without directly answering the question.
🪙Trump Coin: No Cents Of Shame
Donald Trump on Saturday revealed that he is selling $100 "Trump Coins" with his face on them, calling the items a "true symbol of American greatness."
The coins are now the latest product to be sold by Trump as he seeks a second term in the White House, following the launch of Trump Sneakers and "God Bless the USA" Bibles earlier this year.
"Trump Coins are designed by me and minted right here in the U.S.A. This beautiful, limited-edition coin commemorates our movement, our fight for freedom, prosperity and putting America first, we always put America first," Trump said in a video message posted to Truth Social.
"It’s more than just a collector’s item, it’s a testament to the resilience and strength of the American people, our American patriots that we love so much," he added.

🚨Bomb Threats As Trump Says Immigrants Eat Pets
Ohio state troopers are being deployed to the beleaguered city of Springfield to reassure the community that schools are safe despite a wave of bomb threats.
These threats have forced the evacuation and closure of public schools and municipal buildings for a days. The tensions over the growing Haitian population in Springfield exploded after Donald Trump used the presidential debate to spread debunked rumors that Haitians were stealing pets and eating them.
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating — they’re eating the pets of the people that live there,”— Trump at the ABC News debate
President Biden slammed Trump saying “This has to stop”
Trump’s claim was quickly slapped down by ABC News moderator David Muir. Muir corrected the former president, adding: “ABC News did reach out to the city manager there. He told us there had been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” Trump interrupted Muir and disputed him, claiming he saw it “on television.”
Trump now says there will not be another debate against Kamala Harris.
Harris wants to go another round with Trump, and her camp proposed a second debate immediately after the ABC face-off, but Trump has just rejected it. The former president in a Truth Social post claimed that he won his first debate against Harris, and only losers go for another debate.
It comes after 67 million viewers watched the Presidential Debate, the most-viewed TV show since the Super Bowl, easily beating viewers drawn by President Biden’s fateful debate against Donald Trump in June, which garnered 51 million. That’s according to Nielsen, across ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, Fox and CNN. The numbers do not include likely millions more who followed along on social media or websites and streaming platforms.
➡️DEBATE VIEWERS:
ABC 19,049,000
NBC 10,075,000
FOXNEWS 9,062,000
MSNBC 6,381,000
CBS 6,189,000
FOX 4,845,000
CNN 4,389,000
“It’s time to turn the page,” Harris took the debate stage, shook the hand of Trump and then spent the next 90 minutes hammering him.
She hit on his criminal convictions, his lying on abortion, his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the size of his rally crowds and the foreign and military leaders who she said have called him a “disgrace.”
Harris and Trump discussed the economy at length. Trump placed emphasis on a period of sharp inflation that has now eased but has many Americans still reeling. Harris focused on the future, touting her plan to build what she’s called an “opportunity economy.”
Trump called for ABC News to be shut down during a rant about the way he was treated by the network. The former president called into Fox & Friends to complain that he’d faced a “rigged deal” with the debate, with moderators “correcting everything” he said while “not correcting with her.” Asked why he felt moderators hadn’t corrected Harris in the same way, Trump answered: “Because they’re dishonest.”

🧪That DNA You Gave 23andMe, It May Be For Sale
23andMe CEO Anne Wojcicki says she’s considering selling the failing company —which means the DNA of 15 million customers would be up for sale, too.
Who’s interested in your DNA?
Insurers, for example, would probably like to know about any genetic predispositions that might make you more expensive to them.
That means that if you have, say, a genetic marker that can be correlated with a heart condition, a life insurer could find that out and legally deny you a policy—even if you never actually develop that condition.
Law-enforcement agencies rely on DNA data to solve many difficult cases, and although 23andMe says it requires a warrant to share data, some other companies have granted broad access to police. You don’t have to commit a crime to be affected:
And unlike a password that can be changed after it leaks, once your DNA is out in the wild, it’s out there for good.

🚔Diddy Sharing Jail Cell With Crypto Crook Bankman-Fried
Sean “Diddy” Combs is sharing a cell with convicted cyber-swindler Sam Bankman-Fried in a Brooklyn jail.
The pair is reportedly being held in a dormitory style room at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where Combs is awaiting trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges and Friedman is appealing fraud and conspiracy convictions that could put him away for 25 years.
Prosecutors say Sean Combs flew women and sex workers around the world for days-long sex gatherings, fueled by drugs and violent intimidation.
Combs has been denied bail after pleading not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In a federal indictment Combs, 54, is described as the boss of a criminal enterprise that threatened and abused women, coercing them to participate against their will in drug-fueled orgies with male prostitutes and threatening them with violence or the loss of financial support if they refused.

🎤 Harris Surges In Latest Polls
Pressure is on both Presidential candidates as Tuesday’s debate approaches. It is the only one that both campaigns have officially committed to with a network.
Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump in the key states of Georgia, Arizona and Nevada; Trump’s ahead in North Carolina according to a Fox News poll.
She has surged ahead of Trump, 48%-43%, in a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll found.
Harris declared that her “values have not changed” on key issues such as climate change and immigration despite shifting policy stances, as she and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, sat for their first major television interview of their 2024 campaign with CNN.
She vowed to pick a Republican to serve in her Cabinet if she defeats Trump.“I have spent my career inviting diversity of opinion,” the vice president said in an interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash.“I think it’s important to have people at the table when some of the most important decisions are being made that have different views, different experiences.”
Meantime, an Arlington National Cemetery official was “abruptly pushed aside” in an altercation with Trump’s staff during a wreath-laying ceremony to honor service members killed in the Afghanistan War withdrawal. An Army spokesman said the cemetery employee was trying to make sure those participating in the wreath-laying ceremony earlier this week were following the rules, which “clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds.”
Trump’s Truth Social post :
